Underfloor Heating Controls
Underfloor Heating Controls
Spending time getting the underfloor heating controls system right for your project will pay dividends of comfort and efficiency long into the future. Our expertise in control systems sets us apart from our competitors.
We can provide you with a range of underfloor heating controls, from a simple manually mixed system to a highly sophisticated remote sensing and automated system, accessible via the internet.
Our control principles
We believe that each room is unique and will therefore have its own needs, in terms of comfort and control. As a result, it's generally good practice to combine individual room controls with overall system water temperature control. This makes sure that you achieve the comfort you require and maximise the efficiency of the system.
Room comfort control is normally achieved using room thermostats. But remember, an underfloor heating thermostat or room thermostat only acts as a switch, it cannot control the heat output of the system, it can only switch it on or off.
The heat output and therefore comfort level, of the system relates directly to the system water temperature.
For increased efficiency, we normally operate the room thermostats in conjunction with a setback control, which maintains the property at a core temperature during off peak periods.

Room Comfort Controls
The underfloor heating thermostat or room thermostat can be supplied in a range of styles and operating voltages, to suit your needs. To ensure optimum performance, room thermostats should be located on internal walls, out of direct sunlight and draughts.
Enhanced Control Systems
For buildings with large or multiple zones and varying activity such as offices, schools, hotels, sports halls or large residential properties, we have a range of control systems to suit.
In consultation with our technical experts, you can specify a range of options to match your heating/cooling strategy, including:
- Thermostat and Sensor Upgrades
Pulse Width Modulating - provides a more efficient and accurate control of room temperature
Two Stage Heating and Cooling Control – enables the control of both a heating and cooling system in each zone using a single thermostat.
Two Stage Heating Control – enables the control of two heating systems in each zone using a single thermostat.
Remote Floor Sensor – links to the thermostat allowing air and floor temperature control combined.
Remote Air Sensor – allows the sensing of temperature at a distance from the controlling thermostat.
Remote Average Sensors – allows the accurate measurement of temperature over a large area linked to one room thermostat. - Design Safety Limits
By enhancing the air, floor and/or water sensing, we are able to set temperature limits which you can design to protect people and floor coverings, whilst still maintaining comfort levels. They can also help to limit any potential for system inefficiency. - Zone Temperatures
By measuring and linking a room sensor to our system, we can guarantee a given temperature in a room or zone, no matter how large or small, adding yet again to the overall system energy efficiency. - Temperature Optimisation
Our system can be pre-designed to provide set temperatures at given times and these can be adjusted to suit circumstances over time. - Local Balancing
This cleverly prioritises demand from each zone dependent upon the difference between the current and required temperature. This provides more accurate comfort control and adds to energy effifciency. - Heat Source Control
Our systems are capable of co-ordinating and controlling multiple, linked heat sources in a fixed or balanced rotation. We can also modulate the heat source or, with the manufacturers authorisation, directly control a boilers burner to deliver optimum efficiency from the system.
