We are delighted to announce that due to the increasing demand for our Ground Source Heat Pumps, we are employing additional Encompas installation engineers rather than rely on sub-contractors. This will enable us to have complete control over the whole installation process and provide the high quality of work which is critical to the long-term performance and operation of a heat pump especially when used in conjunction with an underfloor heating system.

Ground Source Heat Pumps together with an Underfloor Heating system are an excellent heating solution. Although the initial cost of a heat pump can be relatively high,  in order for the system to operate at maximum efficiency for the whole of its life time, thus delivering impressive energy cost savings, it is critical that they are designed and installed correctly.

By employing our own staff, trained on our own products and systems, we are able to guarantee the high standard of work required at this stage of the heating project. The benefits will include reduced on site time and lower costs, and provides the customer with a heating system which both operates at maximum efficiency and reduces the risk of break-down or problems in the future.

Other aspects of the installation project are also vital to the long-term success of Ground Source Heat Pumps. For example: floor coverings are also more critical when underfloor heating is powered by a Ground Source Heat Pump. This is because a Heat Pump operates most efficiently at a fixed output and so floor coverings and their effect on heat transference need to be carefully considered at design stage. Room control and zoning also need particular attention at the design stage to ensure best performance of the Heat Pump.

We believe that employing our own engineers will ensure that customers have a hassle free installation; ensuring that the combined system will operate at maximum efficiency throughout the building; for the lifetime of the heating system.

First to be signed up to join our team is Craig Noctor, a qualified plumber, and Steve Graham, a qualified mechanical engineer.  The rest of the team includes Andy Wright, Senior Design Engineer and Gary Stewart, Operations Supervisor.

“With this addition to our team, I believe that we are one of the few companies in the industry that can deliver the proper design, supply and installation service to our customers” - Michael Watts (MD)

Encompas engineers can design a system to work with a range of renewable energy solutions; bio-mass, heat pumps or solar systems.  These allow the consumer to use a range of heating and ventilation solutions to reduce their use of carbon fuels either by using solar, ground source heat, or reclaimed heat from the building environment.  Often a combination of these energy sources makes for the most efficient use of energy.

Energy efficiency and reduction in the use of fossil fuels is vital and underfloor heating and renewable energy systems are very low energy users.  Underfloor heating gives a uniform heat through out the whole room, whereas with conventional radiators, the heat rises resulting in hot spots on the ceiling thereby needing a higher room temperature overall.
